Could anyone recommend a good email provider?

Funny you should say that... lol

I use gmail already but this here forum wouldn't let me register using my gmail account. I had to use the g/f's work account to register, hence i'm trying to find another email provider so i can subscribe to threads, get notifications and all that good stuff.

They used to be ok with GMail/Hotmail etc. Now it's not on, so I wouldn't even bother trying. Just try using your ISP's email account

The forums don't allow anonymous e-mail accounts to be used :)

Most ISP-provided e-mail addresses are ok though - most ISPs will let you have a few e-mail addresses as standard, check out what you have available :)

Yeh man its all about using your isp email which is usually pop so get on the outlook action :D

OMG @ Beansprout thats some serious post count

I've had a 12/day post count for a while so it's not that bad but tbh it's probably just a result of a post auction :p

Plusnet for one will give out an email address with a PAYG account, which offers POP3 and IMAP access.
The issue with anonymous email addresses is the obvious: anyone can get one, in any volume they so desire.

Edit:
And I win on both post count and rate :p

Hmmm. My isp is btbroadband and when i signed up with them in year dot, they didn't do email. So, I got myself a nice .com, payed a nice company for a nice dedicated pop mail and then cried as I got bombarded by 5000+ junk mails a day. Got rid of the .com, switched to gmail, and couldn't sign up with OCuK (which to be honest is the only downside to the whole affair).

Anyway, now BT do... btyahoo email. So after much fuss tonight trying to remember account details and then the embarrassment of answering the "what's your child's name?" security question wrong :o , the bemused tech finally allowed me access to my account settings. So I now have a bt email address, which I have used to switch my OcUK account to from my girlfriend's work address so she doesn't get told off when I subscribe to threads :D

What a pullava!

Thanks for the advice chaps.
