Could anyone spec me a PC (£600)

Good point about the mini-HDMI adaptor since I will be needing that so if that's not included that's a few extra quid.

I noticed the case says it has a "temperature sensor" how well does that work and what sort of temps do you get inside the case?

I just left the cable with the temp sensor behind the mobo with the rest of the cables. It gives me a rough idea of the ambient temp inside the case, i don't know how exact it is but the display does show temps rising once my GPU is running at "full chat" so it does work.

If i saw it show more than 30 degrees i would start to worry as it's never usually more than 25/26. That would mean the fans could do with a clean and to give the dust filters a clean to help improve airflow. If the temp increase was down to hot weather I would know to drop the OC on my GPU and or CPU or atleast run software to inspect their temps more closely.

The case doesn't have USB3 ports but you could add a card reader with USB3 into the 3.5 inch bay later to give you a USB3 port.......would make a great gift from someone ;)

Thank you for your webnote.
We offer a 90 day warranty period with B-Grade items. Any remaining warranty period (if there is any) would be with the manufacturers.

Bit of a lottery. Seems you would have to check with manufacturers, to see how much warranty is actually left.
The Bgrade card in question is still a bargain.

GTX 460 was released about Mid 2010 right so it could have only 1 year left.

Will have to compare with the other cards.

Yes it is an old card. It's rival when it was released was the 5830 and 5850. The AMD 6000 series when released was a joke and the 6850 was actually less powerful than the 5850.

The 460 overclocks so well that even its own replacements the 550ti or 560 dont better it, you would need the 560ti.

It all comes down to price and your budget in the end. Any 1GB 460 you can find for £100ish is a good bargain. The EVGA 460SC is priced retail here for £127, the problem is that you can get a 2GB 6950 for £160.

As you can see that extra £30 will get you a much better card with more VRAM. So depending on your budget it's the B grade 460SC/460 f.t.w/6950/7850

Hope this helps and of course feel free to adjust the search criteria in the link so you can compare GPUs in your budget :)

Cheers for all the help!

What I might do now instead, is over the next few weeks I might order parts weekly allowing me to stretch my budget a bit more! Put about £30-£50 extra into it a week.

Start by buying a decent case and extras for that and then slowly get the mobo CPU ram and get the gfx card last!

Since I'm not not about the next few weekends anyway no point buying everything in one go when I won't be fully using it yet. So slowly buy since I can't see prices changing much on the coming weeks. (Still need to make space for it and clear all my old iMac stuff out)

Whats a decent case for about £80 to get me started.

Also I was looking at CPU coolers and how good are these hydro coolers and are they worth getting over a heat sinks and fans?
