Hi,

I need some real advice here! Looking for some opinions from people.

I’ve got a PC that I’ve had for about 6 years now. It’s slowing down and I want to get a new one including windows, monitor etc.

At first I priced up one with all the top stuff like i7, GFX 980, and it came to around £1,500.

Then I felt as if maybe this is too much as I only intend to play CS:GO and a few others.

So I was wondering is there an amount I need to spend to find that perfect balance with performance (not really cutting any corners) and perfect value for money. I was wondering for example if I could spend lower than £1000 on a machine whilst the machine would still last a good few years and where I wouldn’t really be compromising much. The money isn’t too much of an issue for me. I’ll spend whatever I need to. I just wondered that perhaps a build of 1.5k might be too much if I am just going to be playing CS:GO and not really using the PC for much more.

I feel as if I am due an upgrade.

Yes, need everything including monitor and keyboard/mouse but I can spec the monitor and keyb/mouse. Case size can be anything. Bigger probably better. Just wondering how much money I'll need to spend to get some good value without cutting any corners. like for example would a 970 and an i5 be lightning fast? Thanks so far for your help :)
