50 /50 atm :p

everything that looks crap would go from the type R, wheels would take a month coz I need an extra grand to sort new ones, the rest I can do on whats left in my beer money for the month :)

Very true!

Like Scooby said... the Type-R is already done. It'll need very little amounts of money thrown at it to return it to its previous sexy state, whereas the P1 will need a few £££'s to get it upto the Type R's level.

Look whos voting for what though. Fox says P1, thats at least 3 votes taken off for lack of cool. Everyone who knows a bit about scoobies votes Type-R. So thats 5 added for knowledge. 17-9 to the Type R :D

Type R.

The P1 is probably the best buy from what you've hinted at pricewise, but knowing that there's no way on god's green that you're not going to mod the engine as well, the Type R makes more sense as it's had more done so far.

Can someone compare the specs of both cars? What power are they both putting down?

maybe this will help you sway your decision?

Unfortunately scooby, your photoshopped effort still has what looks to be a small roof scoop (which is forgivable as it was probably a rush job), but worse, it still has those utterly ranlk alloys. :(

If you intend to return the Type R to its former glory, then I retract my vote and say Type R.

The RB5 is a bog-standard UK-spec 2000 Turbo with some bodywork changes and a special paint job. So no, not an STI.

Without going off-topic, the car is indeed specced as a UK turbo. My point and the focus of discussion regarding RB5s is that their internal bodyparts are only found on STIs and RB5s. I can only assume that the crossmember was also found in WRXs - UK Turbos do not have this panel so the cars may have been WRXs and re-specced as UK turbos (No rear window wiper, no folding mirrors etc) The crossmember was not fitted at Prodrive becuase the panel is factory welded in place.

:)

As for the poll, I'd go for a Type R - but not that one. Granted the carbon rubbish is coming off but the wheels don't suit and I've got the same front splitter and I don't really like it - I'm changing mine to P1 :)

There was a lovely one a while back on SNet which had a flocked dashboard - gave it a reall rally look :)
