My system is just over 3 years old now, just wondered if i could upgrade with a new video card in my system, it's a

Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-GEN3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 cpu
video card is old now its a Gainward GeForce GTX 570
PSU Corsair Professional Series AX750 High Performance 750W

Am i able to use one of the newer nvidia cards with this motherboard?
Something like a GTX 970.
Because the newer cards are PCI express 3.0 and my system is running in 2.0 PCI express.

Yes you can put a better GFX card in it.

PCi-E2.0 16X is fine

You may have to update the boards BIOS to "see2 the new card.
