Could I have taken this better?

Ok I'm still very much in the learning stages, but decided to take my camera along to chinese new year in london last sunday.

Took a few pics but they all didn't come out that great. Tbh I wasn't that close, but still wonder if I could have perhaps taken them better, technically speaking that is.

They don't appear that sharp tbh, but perhaps taht's just me demanding too much from my little E550, (exif included)

However as Sleepyd said, it was basically like shooting directly into the sun, but there wasn't much I could do about that from where I was standing
