Could I potentially have two GPU's in my system that are of different brands.

I have a 970 as my main card now, for the odd bit of gaming that I do and bought a card with a block off MM and want to put it in my loop to have a mess around with overclocking and stuff as I'm always scared to do it on my main components in case I break them so I can learn a bit more.

Now both cards would show up in device manager right? So could I just disable the other card when I'm finished playing around with it?

I only problem I see is conflicting drivers?

Yes you can, it would output games on the main connected display.

Easiest scenario is dual monitors and disable the screen of the one you aren't 'using', if you don't have dual display, you would have to plug in the display to whatever gpu you want to use.

AMD/Nvidia work without problems outwith GPU PhysX being disabled due to AMD discrete in the system.
