Hi there

I recently upgraded my system due to some issues I was having.
Old spec:
i5 2500k
Asus rog gene v
8 gig ram
MSI gtx 1070 ti
AX750

I have changed it too:
Ryzen5 3600
Asus Strix B450-F
Corsair MP510
16gb ram
MSI 1070 ti
Same Corsair AX750

The issues I was having was with the usb's, they sometimes worked and randomly didnt and eventually the USB3 stopped working completely. Then sometimes when a USB would stop, the system wouldnt turn off.

Now the new system is fantastic however the other day, the same thing happened, usb stopped working and I couldnt turn the system off.

The old system was 8 years old apart from the GPU which is 2 years old. Assuming its not the GPU, the only other component I kept is the PSU. Does it sound likely that the PSU is starting to fail?

Thanks for your reply. When I got the AX750, I knew it was overkill but wanted the headroom for further upgrades. I really only upgrade the GPU over 7 or 8 years. is 550 enough or would I be better with a 650?

Would the Superflower Leadex 3 be a good replacement for the Corsair AX? I have built a couple of rigs with Superflower and they have been good but the AX was a premium model when I bought it. I was looking at the RMx series but looks like they are not made by Seasonic like the AX were.

I had a Super flower Leadex in one of my previous builds, brilliant unit, fully modular and 7 year guarantee...

The only thing I didn't like was the LED lights in each port but that's easily hidden if you have a PSU shroud, However I don't think all superflower PSU's have that feature

Thanks, I will have a look. Ive got a side window and led's would annoy me, i will check if they have them.

Leadex III doesn't have led's thank god!!

When you rebuilt the pc to the current configuration did you do a fresh install of windows? If not then you may have copied some problem over to the new build. USB failure would normally be down to the motherboard or a usb device compatibility problem and to have the same fault on a new build is strange.

Yep brand new install. I had windows installed on a Samsung SSD now it’s installed onto an m2 drive with the Samsung as a storage drive.

Thanks for the post, would you mind updating me as soon as the new PSU is installed and had time to test?
