Our 2001 Renault clio is strugling to start in the cold. Things i have done replaced the battery and also tested the alternator voltage which its putting out 14.5 v to the battery.

Could it be the Coil Pack ?

Could be lots of things, I would check the plugs first though before swapping coil packs out.

Is it fuel injection or carbs? If it's carbs does it have a Manuel or auto choke?

If it's fuel injected possibly check the idle speed?

I kinda hate to say it also mate but that is a 16 year old French car, don't think your doing too badly :)

Any problems when it's running, misfire etc? In my experience a failing coilpack causes bad running but not necessarily bad starting.

Have you got a good earth on the battery and starter motor wire is in good condition?
