Could my motherboard really limit my Internet speed!?

Is the port on the SuperHub set to 100Mb?

Do you have an option in the driver to force it to be 1Gb?

it could be anything in your setup

the motherboard doesn't have a decent enough ethernet controller.

correct drivers aren't installed or set up correctly

your hard drive cannot write more than a certain speed at any one time.

or your ethernet controller connects at 100MB but real term throughput is less with overheads, etc.

Transfer a few mahoosive files from his PC to yours, add up the download rates.

lmao

why not just transfer 1 massive file?

transferring several files at the same time individually is going to cause hard drive limitations come into play.

I can only dream about super high speed broadband but reading this thread i checked my LAN connection and it's also only at 100mbps. The board is a P7P55D-E Pro so the revised version of the OP's. Could be a onboard Gbe thing then?

If his is anything like mine the only thing in that drop down box is Auto Negotiation using the drivers from Asus. Last night i downloaded the latest driver from Realtek (7.073) and installed it. You have to use the update driver function to install it. Rebooted and now i have the full list in the drop down box.
