Could not activate EDGE: You are not subscribed to EDGE

Hello,

I have a US iphone which i have had for about 6 months now all was working fine. However I recently moved house and new house had zero reception for v
Virgin PAYG.
I wanted to move away from Virgin PAYG anyway because there data is so expensive!
So i thought i would get my self 02 PAYG Sim and use that - got my number transferred over.

Now the problem is i now get this message - Could not activate EDGE: You are not subscribed to EDGE.
Also the menu option to change EDGE settings is now missing, making it impossible to view or change EDGE settings.

Now i am fairly sure i can use WAP/EDGE over PAYG O2 with Iphone

Now I am thinking this must be a common problem?

Running 1.1.4 Ziphoned for activation and unlock.

No, O2 PAYG is GPRS only, there are tweaks to disable the warning about being unable to sign in, however.

i have been seraching this topic for days now and the only thing i stumbled apon was a hack involving SSHing into the phone and changing some code. But that only tuned the Edge menu back on

ok maybe there is on for 1.1.4 then, although i did find the way i found to do it easier just adding a source to installer
