i did check 1st before i posted,some people was saying it was working on other asus motherboards,even though it wasn't on the asus compatibility list

It should work. It's just a Q9550 after all. I had an X3350 (Q9450) running no probs on my Gigabyte X38-DS4 and Abit IX38 Quad.

installed the Intel Xeon 2.8 GHz Processor,on the p5q deluxe motherboard,it was recognise straight away,thanks ocuk for the excellent service

Mines running fine on my P5K. Clocked it to 3.4 (400*8.5), runs fairly cool on 1.200vCore (1.225 in BIOS).

What VID did yours have s&b? Mine's 1.2250v according to CoreTemp.
