could someone help me please??

Hi all,

just wondering if someone would be able to give me some advice with the boot strats (is that what they're called?)in my boot. Apparantly, the oil has gone in them so when i open it, it doesnt stay open (and smacks me in the head lol). the connections look like ball and socket and i think they would just pop off but im not sure..any1 able to enlighten me??

my car is a normal ford focus 2001 plate, 3 door (unsure if its a specific model, added a pic incase you do need that info)

Pretty sure the have a little metal clip on the plastic socket part, you pull this clip off and then the strut comes off.

Whack it with a hammer, that will get it off

so i could buy replacements and just change them myself? sorry i am a total newbie to cars

Yes. See if there are any good ones in the local scrappy if you wish, sometimes they can be particularly expensive OE considering the size of the unit.
