Hello,

I am sick of my crappy Netgear DG834N; constant disconnects and countless reboots.

I am hoping to get something with gigabit ethernet and USB sharing (if possible!) and as high a speed as possible for wireless as I stream movies. I have a budget of about 150-170 quid.

Any help from you experts out there appreciated.

Cheers! :D

There aren't that many ADSL modem/routers with gigabit around yet. There are only about 3 that I know of:

Belkin N1 Vision - £100
Billion BiPAC 7402NX - £150
Draytek Vigor 2820n - £180

Both the Draytek and the Billion have support for failover to wireless broadband if your main connection goes down.

On the other hand, if you break it into two boxes (ADSL router and gigabit switch) you have a million options and you can almost certainly save some money.

True - the only downside is it means it's another box, extra cables and another plug. I'm also looking to replace my router but I really wanted an integrated wireless-N/ADSL modem/gigabit effort because of the reduced clutter. I thought the N1 Vision was expensive at £100 and then I found the few alternatives cost even more ;)
