Could someone tell me if these temps are fine?

Hi guys,

I'm new to overclocking and recently overclocked my i5 4690K to 4.4Ghz. Running Intel Burn Test my max recorded temp is 71°C. I'm using an after market air cooler. Is that a safe temp for my CPU?

that's not bad at all for temps, i have overclocked my I7 950 from 3ghz to 4ghz and mines around 60C mark with a after market cooler but that's just gaming etc and haven't stuck it through a burn test

71c under ibt with a haswell is astonishingly good, considering some of these will hit the 90's at stock.

Something is amiss there pastymuncher as I get 135GFlops with 4930K @4.2, try IBT 2.54.

edit: I'm sure Intel quads should be getting circa ~100GFlops.

That's with AVX instructions under prime95. Ver 28.5 is a killer for temps on haswell. Hence its nit reccomended to stress test with such programs. All three of my haswell i7's have been very hot chips. The two 4790k's being worse than the 4770k I had.

One more question. I'm happy with my overclock so is it safe to now put vcore to adaptive or something because I don't want to be drawing max voltage all the time?

Yes, although with your temps I would see if I can get anymore out of it first. If you are happy though set it up as a offset to get the voltage to drop at idle.
