My old mans P.C keeps losing the correct time. After it's been switched off for a few days it reverts to a date in 2003 when he switches it on. He also sometimes gets a check-sum error when booting, and has to do F1 to continue.
I changed the mobo battery a few days ago and thought we'd cracked it, but it's happened again.
Is there a chance that his Bios chip has something wrong with it, or can anyone think of any other reason why this may be happening?
Just wanted to check that a faulty Bios may do this sort of thing before ordering him a new one. (It's a Shuttle running XP Home SP2).
