There is no game in developemnent called Half-Life 3!!!

They are not just going to not finish an episodic story.

And you know this for a fact now?Episode 2 came out 5 years ago, they're not doing so hot on the episodic front.
Valve are very good at keeping quiet. Who knows what which the next title in the Half-Life franchise will be. Regardless of this, I think a child could work out that even if it's Ep3 next, A game called Half-Life 3 and a new engine is almost certainly in development, even if it's years away.
People are getting over excited and jumping to conclusions.
I'll tell you why.
From a business perspective it makes no sense to release HL3 now. The place where compnies make money is mutiplayer... plain and simple..
Now valve have said their main goal is to be cross platform hence CS:GO having the potential for cross platform multiplayer. Thats why HL2:EP3 is taking so long...
I predict that EP3 will come first using same engine and being cross platform. HL3 will be what valve use to showcase a new engine which we wont see until the new consoles come out..
It would make no sense to create a flag ship title the HL3 will be for valve and then release it on an engine which in modern terms is lagging behind other technology on the market.

And which engine(s) would that be?
