Hi there could the following laptop play future next gen games. Basically looking into getting a laptop instead;

MSI CX61
Processor Intel® Core™ i7-4702MQ Haswell Quad Core (2.2GHz, Intel Turbo Boost Up To 3.2GHz)
Screen 15.6" (MSI, 1920x1080 FULL HD Resolution, Anti-Glare)
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8 64bit
RAM 16GB DDR3
Hard Drive 1000GB
Optical Drive Blu-Ray (Blu-Ray HD Play back + DVD-RW & CD-RW)
Graphics Dedicated (NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M with 2GB Dedicated

Thanks

Type "laptop gpu check 740m" in google and check the first link. A bit down the page will show you frame rates that card can push. It really doesn't look good, example the new saints row on high gets 15fps. Facry 3 on high 12fps.

You want at least 30fps (what the 360 and ps3 usually manage) for smooth gameplay. Some people prefer 60fps, in my opinion 30 is perfectly acceptable but 60 is silky smooth.

TBH with laptops it's worth buying nearly the very best you can afford. I wouldn't go recommending GTX780m... it's just a little too expensive imo, but the 770m and 8970m/7970m are fine choices and will have more legs than the rest. As above, a 765m is the VERY lowest I'd go if you are buying a laptop specifically for current/future high end gaming

I bought my OCUK custom laptop with the same intention, I went for an 8970m and haven't regretted it. Had no problem running games at 1080p with details maxed out so far, I'm hopeful that BF4 will be 30fps+ with those settings.

What were your specs mate? I'm pretty much a novice. When I was fiddling with options I can upgrade processor from 4700 to 4800 and 4930 is it worth me doing that with a 8970? I was going to go for 8gb ram instead of preselected 4. I think the ocuk pc was called hardcore gamer 15.6"? Any advice would be most welcome, as u mainly only play RPGs I thought a gaming laptop would be better than next gen console.
