Could using AMD game Ticket effect Returns/RMA?

I just ordered the Asus 7970 Matrix Plat yesterday and it came with the AMD Golden Ticket (and Silver Ticket) which have come through to my email, although the card is to be delivered tomorrow.

So I was just wondering, if I redeem the ticket and get the games, would that effect my ability to return or swap (or anything similar) the card at all?

If it went faulty for a RMA then no. If you buy it and send it straight back but use the game codes then I think you'd get less money back?

Who did you buy it from, OCUK?

Yeah I bought it from OCUK.

The reason it got me thinking was when I click the OCUK link in the email about the ticket, it says on the page:

"Please bear in mind that once the product code is viewed returning software under the distance selling regulations will not be possible."

I know it says software, which I'm not entirely sure what that means or is referring to (the ticket code? game codes? games themselves?), but it did make me wonder if the hardware of the card itself could be affected in any way..

I'm obviously not looking to just scam OCUK and just get the codes or anything like that, but just in-case maybe the card doesn't fit maybe or something like that and I have to send it back then I wouldn't want to be stuck with it or lose out on money or anything just because I used a code for some games.

Distance selling regulations are for if you don't want/are not happy with/miss-sold an item and want to return it.

If you use your codes and decide you don't want the card anymore, then there will be a problem.

This has nothing to do with faulty/broken items

As above. The codes are not required to test the item and return under the DSR. As such there would likely be a cash deductable applied. They are however a freebie, so don't apply during a return/replacement if faulty.

Right okay. Well I think I'm going to leave it for now, not desperate for the games and will probably just sell or swap them anyway so no rush.

I've sent a webnote to OCUK anyway just to clarify exactly what the situation would be.

Thanks for all your help.

You might want to wait even if you keep the card.

Its all personal preference obviously but the games available at the moment are a bit crap, I'm hoping for new games to be added before the end of the year.

You have to redeem all 3 games at once.
