The build is for a LAN on Saturday so i am afraid i cannot wait until next week for parts
Note: the gfx card is just there as a price holder it is not going to be purchased , i already have a cheapo one i will be putting in

Couple of things,
is it worth going for a Q9450 over a q6600? as there are rather mixed responces depending which forum your read
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp... 2.66GHz 12MB-cache (1333FSB) Processor - OEM

should i spend that bit extra for 4 gig (2x2gb) even though i am going to be using windows xp 32-bit?

Is the powersupply sufficient for the build?

Thanks in advance for all your help

Looks good to me.

The only thing I'd consider is stretching to 4Gb of RAM. You could probably get away with PC6400 as well.

I thought about using 800Mhz memory but figured may aswell spend the extra now and get a higher clock now than upgrading later

My only concern with XP is that only 3-3.5gig of the memory will be used so maybe it would be better to upgrade later when the machine gets upgraded to vista

Anyhoo thanks guys, ordered it now :)

as mentioned i'd go with 4gb of pc6400 memory (that will get the q6600 to 3.6), and maybe go with a p35 mobo (abit ip35/asus p5k) over the p45.
