Could you live without an internet connection?

I'd like to think I could, but I would have to completely redesign my life. Right now, almost everything requires it.

I'd have to reduce the complexity an absolute ton. Right now, I have a bunch of savings accounts, credit cards etc across different institutions. I can't even imagine trying to do all of that without instant online banking.

And, tbf, it would rely on all of the companies I use having decent fallbacks.

Went on military exercise abroad for 3 weeks in 2023 and left our phones in a glove box in the UK.

Not exactly by choice, but it was surprising how quickly I got used to it.

Not unless every utility company and government agency opened a local office and someone was paying for my diesel.

I have no mobile coverage indoors and the call quality over the old copper landline was terrible.

It depends, I probably could live without internet access as long as everyone else was living without it - otherwise you just end up in a situation where you're expected to do everything online or through an app, but you can't get to it.

Mobile phones are too useful to give up, downgrade it to voice calls and text messages if you have to.

I rely on it for work, but I could live without it if needed. There was something quite nice about not being connected.

I watched a video earlier with football fans on the final day of the season, needing to avoid relegation and listening to other result via a radio at the match, those were the days... And Teletext!
