*OVERCLOCKED* AMD Phenom II X3 Tri Core 720 Black Edition 2.80GHz @ 3.30GHz / Asus Crosshair III Formula Motherboard / Corsair XMS3 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600C9DHX Bundle
and

XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 XTX XXX Edition 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (Includes Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.)

I don't think you'd get much more gaming grunt than that without spending quite a bit of money - the tri core Phenom IIs are perfectly sufficient for 90% of games, and the 4890 is really only topped by the 285/295 GPUs from Nvidia architecture wise, which are priced much higher.

Sounds like a good little mix, that does.

I'd rather buy a £70 motherboard and a 3.2 GHZ 955 quad. No need to even clock it for a similar price.
That said, nothing wrong with the bundle you chose, all very good stuff.

:thanks for the comments lads,i am much happier about the parts i bought now.
im not sure which os to get though, ive nether tried vista and from what ive heard it might be best sticking with xp then upgrading to win 7.
what would be the best route?
much appreciated if u could help :)

Either run windows 7 RC to 'get the feel' and then upgrade to windows 7 on release, or stick with xp and then upgrade to windows 7 on release..i'm doing a bit of both tbh :D

No real reason to get vista at this point, especially with 7 coming up, and licenses (IIRC) for pre-ordered 7 still cheaper than a vista license..
Some people who already have vista are sticking to it, but if you're still on xp, no reason not to go straight up ;)

(EDIT: Although i'm a complete idiot and forgot that you get a free voucher for windows 7 upgrade with a new vista license..so it's all down to what's cost effective for you and what would be most convenient, but i'd leave the idea of vista)

Bear in mind you can't do a soft-upgrade from Xp to Win7 - it's a full on format and reinstall from scratch.

I'd go for Win7, been using it for months now, it's surprisingly not very hateful at all.

I would have to agree with Alex74..

You could download the Win7 RC and use that as your OS until it gets released, or just stick with XP until Win7 release..

No point in wasting money on Vista when 7 will be available soon...

ive not actually got any os system yet, sorry i misinterpreted what i was supposed to say.i said 'sticking with xp' because ive got it on my laptop and i meant should i buy it for my new build then upgrade to 7
from your post it seems as though 7 is the best option,so will i have to wait for it to be officially out,or is this trial available on disk or would i be able to download and put it on disk to install on my pc build
i suppose the other option which one of you said was the voucher with vista because you cant go xp to 7 :(,but reading your thoughts on vista i'll would like to avoid that route.

sorry im very tired and as you can tell know nothing about pc's lol,i think its best me staying away from posting lol

thanks anyway for input :)

is there ways to delete posts because people must assume im a retard because my thread is the most confusing and stupid lol :o

thanks jon20 for sending link,i shall download that once pc's built and install it in the next week or so when i have rest of money to finish build.will using the pre os be risk free, because if its not the finished os surely people using it are basically guinea pigs giving feedback to microsoft maybe encountering bugs or something.sorry im just a curious person and like things working hassle free with minimal problems.but i suppose nothings perfect and there's always risks of bugs so you have to live with it.if its ok to run for now until full version comes out i guess its worth it.thanks again for help its very helpful to me
