couldn't find NTLDR when booting from cd

Hi,

Before you say it, no there isn't a floopy disk in the drive.

My Problem is i'm trying to do a reinstall of xp pro and when i press enter to boot from CD it comes up with this error: couldn't find NTLDR. I'm using an origional XP Pro cd and i've tried using a copy of the CD to see if it was something wrong with the disc and that didnt work.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is and how I can fix it?

Possible borked memory or DVD drive?

i have tried a diffrent CD drive and i still got the same error, i have also changed the IDE cable and diffrent memory in diffrent dimms. anymore ideas?

I had this today when i was playing with my bios as i changed the order of my hard drives within the bios and when i placed back in the right order pc booted again

So maybe if you have more than one drive it could be there in the wrong order, maybe not the same problem your having but worth looking
