What a morning :(

Just went out to part ex the wife's mazda6 in for a 2013 Seat Leon FR.

All goes swimmingly till we go out to drive away and it turns out the dealership lackey, while kindly topping up the tank for us, managed to scrape the whole side of the car on a traffic cone they'd left next to the car  45min later and a trip to the valet bay and its all buffed out and shiney.

So, attempt two at leaving... We pull out of the space behind a white mazda 6 (not my wife old one) and follow them east to the edge of the dealership, they turn right and stop at the light's at the back right corner of the picture where the blue car on the loader is:

They have changed the layout slightly so the road on the forcourt now sits at 90deg to the roar running north to south...
I pull out and to about 45deg about to pull in behind him when the  decides to start reversing away from the red light

I hit the horn, whack it reverse and try and get out the way, but he managed to slam into the front offside corner of the car :(
He apollogises, admits fault at the road side & on video and were on our way after photos and insurance details are taken.

Just got to hope now that he doesn't try and claim we hit him! Apparently the video isn't worth anything as it could have been done under duress..

Spoken to the dealership and apparently the camera sweep missed the whole thing and no-one saw anything :(

Appologies for fat fingers, posted from my mobile, tryng to calm down with a coffee while the misses has her hair done...

Damage isn't too bad, scuffs and dents in the front bumper, but let's see what the assessor says

Very surprised if anyone other than the bodyshop does any kind of assessment on that type of damage, they'll just fix it

I feel your pain though, someone drove into me five minutes after picking up the type R

Properly takes the edge off doesn't It :( first accident in 6-7 years and its in a new car..

Unless he said on the video " Im doin this under udress" then Im sure if you have a witness and a video then its admissable.

Was the driver that reversed into you in any way related to the stealers?
If you are going thru insurance anyway I'd inform police, get a ref number and have them request the CCTV footage?
