Counter Strike: Condition Zero - Help

After recently buying L4D I've found online gaming with mates really good, so I'm installing a few older titles that I never played.

One of which is Counter Strike: Condition Zero, retail version. On the main screen after installing it say "Play online using Steam". Whenever I choose that it exits out of the game and installs steam.. yet CS:CZ is not listed on my games in Steam.

How do I get this working with steam so I can play online with my friends ? as I notice CS:CZ is mentioned on my mates steam IDpage.

Think you have to enter your CSCZ key into the "activate a product on steam" dropdown in the steam client.

That could be it, but I've enetred the key now and it says the Key has already been used on an existing Steam account and therefore is invalid. I've had the game new since day of release, it's possible I registered the key all those years back but it would have been to my steam account.

Any ideas what I can do now ?
