Hey guys, I have installed CSS on my computer and I have the frame rate running...my concern is that running at 1920x1080 the FPS drops to around 130fps at some points, and averages 180-220fps.

Due to this being an old game is this ok fps or should I be getting more from my card?

My specs are:

EVGA 768 SC Graphics card
2600K i7
8Gigs ripjawX RAM
Asus P8P67 MB

thanks guys!, RTJ

Why would you worry on something like CSS, shouldnt you be testing your gfx card on something demanding, like Crysis or Metro 2033.

Am pretty sure that the eye can only see something like 77fps, cap your fps at 101, that way it's consistent and you wouldn't see the drops!

its probably dropping due to the graphics card loading the next little area of CS.

on CS source i am constantly on the 300FPS limiter, but every now and then it drops down to 260FPS. it seems to be doing this when it is loading the next area for me.

i really wouldnt worry about it myself

CS:S is CPU depends like all source games.

Graphics doesn't come into play, I've maxxed the game with HD3000 onboard :p

However, I get higher frame rates with Phenom II - is multi-core rendering on?

Shibbzy you muppet, read this

The reason I suggested turning multi-core support off is because some people have a problem with it on. Worth a shot, doesn't take long to know if it's that :)

I checked my settings, and multi core is already disabled..:(

My head memory is ****** but isn't 120fps the sweet spot for the Source engine ?
Forget about maxing out the FPS & find the sweet spot & then you'll be slated & kicked for clipping/Haxor etc etc etc  + :D + :p
