Don't know if any of you follow the competative Counter-Strike scene but there's a pretty big match about to take place in the next 5-10 minutes.

Have not seen that many people watching a match on source....
Wonder why ....so much more 'fun' says it all

Plenty of people spectate matches in source, as long as there are skilled players around or it's an important match.

Lost all intrest in CS last year, 1.6 is far too easy to master. Having played casually since beta 5.2, 1.6 is still better than cs:s in regards to competative gaming but CSS is taking over with all the CGS stuff happening.

8k is not bad but for a tournament win not amazing either, i don't really think gaming will be mainstream here as a "sport" till the prize money goes up substantially.

I admit 1.6 probably is better for the competitive side of the game, but i enjoy CSS, cant really explain why, i think its just the graphics.

And also, my x1950pro quid can only play it on low at 800x600?
If i buy 2x 8800Ultra will i be able to put 2xAA and textures into medium:p

Looks somethings wrong with your set up, should get lots of fps on max settings.

The prizes vary a lot, this one was pretty small in prizes but all the big teams went. The prize for last years WSVG (World Series of Video Games) for CS 1.6 was:

1st Place: $50,000, 5 Rolex Watches, 5 Computers
2nd Place: $25,000, 5 Computers
3rd Place: $10,000, 5 Computers
4th-10th Place: 5 Computers for each team.
