counter strike source connection error?

Decided to start playing cs:s again (i've got a o2 broadband connection) but i can't on most servers for more then a few mins before it freezes and i get in red writing on the top left "connection error". The thing is i can play fine on a hand full of servers if i retry but on most i keep getting connection error. I ruled out my connection as ican play xbox live, cs 1.6 and team fortress 2 fine it's only with cs:s.


Any ideas?

Sorry for the bump but i am getting a different problem now, i can't seem to get on many servers. Either it freezes on getting server info or on sending client info

When i do find a server i can get on it's fine no connection errors. I've disabled the o2 routers firewall but still them same. I know its my connection now as my laptop has no problems when i go to my brothers house who has got a 2mb virgin connection.

*btw im on o2 broadband getting around 12 meg connection.............please dont tell me i have to switch and go back to virgin

thats steam for you, i remember my cs days, nightmare!, but then i did have a slow comp+connection back then
