counter strike source modeling help

i used to dab in 3d software (3ds max) a fair while ago then had to stopped due to lack of time. Now though i have enough time to start up again. What i want to do is have a model i created put into counter strike source (to actually see my model in game). Here lies the problem i have search the net trying to find out how to do ths in detail but i can't seem to find any sort of guide or tutorial thats goes any real sort of depth. I tried this (with the plugins i found here http://www.wunderboy.org/ for 3d max)

but it doesnt help with textures, i tried it anyway but my model doesnt appear in game (its as if the character is holding nothing). At first i thought it was my model, but i tried it with the deafult models and i get the same result. So its the method either in the guide or my ability to follow it.

So can anyone think of guide (more details the better) for me to use?
