Counter Strike Source problum

When ever i try to run CSS i get the word error randomly placed on maps then shortly after connecting to the server CSS closes its self. It worked fine before i installed my sound card. When i go to test speaker settings i also get the errors poping up.

I have installed the latest drivers for the sound card its an X-Fi Xtreme muisc.

Can anyone help?

did you have onboard sound before? did you disable it in bios?

did you uninstall all your old drivers for the sound?

Is the word ERROR replacing a texture. If so then it means that the game could not extract the texture correctly from your game files. This is typically down to

1. The game files being corrupted (Delete them and get steam to redownload them)
2. Memory on your machine isnt stable (run memtest from a CD to test)
3. You have an unstable overclock/machine.

Yeah i have an unstable machine just now but i put it back to stock settings still the same i will redownload them i geuss
