Right so after years of playing this on and off, I gave a mate back home a pc that can actually play it so we've been playing it online loads in the last few days and its been awesome!

Now iv persuaded my flatmate to get it and play too :D, only problem is i cant work out how to have both of us playing it over one internet connection. Is there some special way to force us to both have the same speed/"amount" of internet and acive resonable pings???

Fancy a game in 10 mins? it's pretty much the only FPS game I can play right now due to my 7800gt... :o

Yeah ok, just need to find a way so bo my and my flatmate can play it at the same time down our connection (virgin media).

Random but the 7800gt was awesome for this game (card in the pc i gave to a mate back home last week)

Yep the 7800gt eats CS:S but it's pretty useless for L4D and TF2. :/

Post when you're both on a server, I have dual screens and often flip between OCUK and CS:S...

Also, I'll add ya to steam friends if I can figure out how... :)

well it can but you've got to turn down the details a bit... I've just joined this server 85.234.148.55:27015

And I'm called "Monsieur Stabby" :D

Most people who play Counter Strike or Counter Strike Source domt know that you HAVE TO sort your rates out. in the console type...

rate 20000
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101

If you dont do that your gameplay will be rubbish. simple as.

For most people, the standard rates are just fine. With regards to the 7800GT playing Left 4 Dead, it'll be fine, just don't expect it to do highest settings. I still play css occasionally, awesome game, if a little dated now.

Depends on the server's settings, for best fit anyway.

do you have a router?

i don't understand the problem here

me and my brother can play TF2 at the same time on my mum's crappy 256kb connection, pings around 70ms

read steam support ittells you what needs to be setup for 2 pcs on one connection. :) although most routers do 100% job for you
