Today (after waking up feeling really groggy) I decided to stick my batts on charge and go upto a medium sized remote area which I stumbled accross when walking home the other day. I went back out there all prep'd for the battle of possble wetness (I wore my football boots there, thank god coz I slipped 3 times and sunk once) At first I tried to get a 360 Degree panoramic shot (which I havent processed yet but feel it might be a bit toss)
I took most the gear out with me but the main uses came from the 17 - 40 L and the trusty 58mm Hoya R72 ( I havent been using this much due to what I like to blame my town but thought it was about time I started making something of it as the sun was out)
Enough small talk, Here are the results.

ocuk1.jpg

Quite a wide angled shot with the main attraction as the multipue arched rail bridge. 17 - 40 L

ocuk2.jpg

This was just a swamp area at the top where the rail bridges meet the land. I noticed this while walking back down into the main area of intrest. I shot this based on the gate. Although the gate wasnt the main attraction of the shot, When composed I noticed a good perspective on the water from the back ground trees.17 - 40 L

ocuk3.jpg

I shot this from the other side of the brigde walking outwards back into town. The entire framed shot doesnt work at all due to the lack of exposure on the farm stuff in the forgound. So I cropped this into something more pleasing.17 - 40 L

ocuk4.jpg

This shot was taken right under one of the arches of that rail bridge. I had to scale a small wall covered in electric fencing and brand new barbed wire. Then I waited for the exposure to finish (which felt like a lifetime when your worried part of the bridge might come down and sqish you! 17 - 40 L

ocuk5.jpg

As I got to the area there was a small footbrigde to get over the stream. I was actually stood under half a foot of the stream to photograph this. I wanted to be further round but these long exposures in cold water were abit much (footie boots 90% soaked)17 - 40 L

Walking back to the entry point I had to cross the stream in order to get home. I was usually quite carful until now where I thought "F"k It" and walked through 4 foot of water to cross ( You do anything when your stomach wants food )
This was one of my faves due to the working of the clouds.17 - 40 L

ocuk7.jpg

I was resting on a gate for several seconds to let the stress from my neck ease from lugging my bag with me. As I sat on the gate I planned to get a train passing by with a bit of motion to it but I missed it due to IR settings on the camera. So I decided to add this to my collection. This shot actually means a lot to me as I spent a lot of time around here due to my primary school ( Which sparked a nice memory from some 15 years ago )17 - 40 L

ocuk8.jpg

Although its not the last to be viewed on ocuk, It was infact my last shot of the day. I had to wait 11 minuites for a slow stuborn cloud to move so I could shoot this. I went with the odd colours as I really do like the yellow as appose to the blue on shots that were intended to have a spooky feel to them. I thought that about this shot due to the rope swing some punk had made. Reminded me of some nitemare early 90s horror movie.100 - 400 L IS

ocuk13.jpg

I had been waiting all day to get this shot. Only reason I had to wait was due to the suns location. I really didnt want flare on this shot.17 - 40 L

ocuk9.jpg

Walking home I was in a good mood by now and thought. I wanted that shot 2 hours ago! "Fk it, Im having it" So I jumped into about 4 ft of cold stream for a long durtion (thrilling :P )
Im glad I did, the high wind was perfect for the impact of my shot. Processed half n half for a different water effect.17 - 40 L

I shot this due to all the stones in ther forground but unlike the mighty D70, I was unable to collect the shot I cashed in on. Still like it though, Just wasnt what I had intended to achieve. 17 - 40 L

There were 3 more but I felt they didnt do much for the collection. I will show them on my DA scraps at some point tonight.

C&C as awlays welcomed. Hope you enjoyed.
Johnny.

Your IR is improving mate - these are great :)
Just never anywhere to bloody take them :( Cept here :) Also the cam sucks for IR. Still happy with these outcomes. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks, Clouds make a IR shot :D

Phnom_Penh:
They do have a hunted feel to them dont they

Ghost in the Shell:
Thank you. The filter is the Hoya R72 58mm Infra Red. £38 from the leading name in photography high street.

Tonks:
Thank you, Nice selection you got there.

Some lovely IR there :)

That tree is just fantastic, amazingly photogenic. Number's 4,5 and 6 are looking great too; the water really helps add some depth to the images and looks very cool in IR.

Damn you all with your IR skills! I'm definitely gonna have to give this a go soon ;)

I'm in two mids about IR photography, some i like and some i hate. I like these, they still have a kind of 'wow' factor, where as some don't because they just look so washed out. :)
