Couple of boot problems I need addressing

Ok I am using a custom packed DVD of Windows vista 32 Ultimate.

After the computer posts and flicks to the screen that lists all your IRQs I HAVE to have the bios set up to allow the DVD rom drive to be the first boot drive.
following this I NEED the Windows DVD in the drive in order to boot.
If I don't have it set up like this or have the DVD in the drive I will get a boot error.

Its either got something to do with possible boot files on my hard drives or its how I have set up this custom dvd.. Can you recomend anything?

Second problem is hardware based.

When the computer starts up. If the keyboard is connected to the computer the machine hangs/crashes
It is because the keyboard device is Apples new slim line keyboard.
I have to disconnect it until the memory has been counted and then I can connect it back up.
Once I did manage to have my bios set up so it would remain connected and there was no issue but I have reset the bios since then.
I can always try n get it set up again but If you guys know exactly why then that would be great.

Cheers
