Does anyone know if there's anything that can be done about the ice effect killing performance? I was just playing the second level and in that one bit where the Koreans are shooting at the monster and there's a small smoky ice section, the performance literally halved!

Speaking of performance, FRAPS tells me I get a constant 30fps (v-synced) at 1920x1200, 4xMSAA, all settings on Very High.

Outside of dual-GPU setups (including the 590 etc), is there any card/rig that can run this at a constant 60fps v-synced at the above settings yet?

Probably stating the obvious, but have you tried ditching the AA? Also, are you running DX9 or DX10? I always had better performance using DX9 (with one of the custom configs that various people released to get the graphics back up on par with DX10).

If you're running the Steam version, under Set Launch Options type "-dx9" (without the quotes) into the dialog box to run under DX9.

That part of the game is really intensive though.

My GTX 580 which is overclocked to 972MHz can run crysis on enthusiast with 2xAA at 1080p, but not at a locked 60, although the game regularly goes above 60fps it usually bottoms out at about 40fps.

You already knew the answer to your question anyway...

I find the AA implementation strange on Crysis. If I use the in game AA options then the frame rate hit is virtually non-existant, but the effect of change that you would expect just isn't there. In other words, I can still see the jaggies, just to a lesser degree.

If I force AA though the nVidia control panel there doesn't seem to be enough of an improvement to satisfy my expectation, which as with other titles, is superb. I still see some egding, but yet again, the frame rate hit is still minimal. With my 4870X2 the effect of the AA was better but the performance hit was very substantial.
