Couple of jailbreak question iPhone 3G

Will I lose all of my contacts and texts?

In that guide the first part is about installing 2.1 firmware, as iam already on 2.1 do I need to skip that part and go straight to step three?

I JB the other night, and set Cydia in my dock using Boss prefs, now I had to restore and just JB again, and of course only the Installer app is showing on my iPhone, I selected to installed both Cydia and Installer when I ran Quickpwn.

How do I go about getting Cydia back? Can you install Boss prefs using installer?

Managed to get the bossprefs app into the folder over SSH after restarting the app still isnt on my springboard, any ideas anyone?

I would recommend jailbreaking again. Hard restore back to 2.1 and try again.
