Hi

Considering getting a V350 again........ along with the new dfi P45 mobo, first question was gonna be if my 4870 would fit but i saw a post showing it does so forget that one, will my Reaper HPC fit in ok? Also whats the best 775 cooler people recommend seems the mini ninja is popular :)

Mini ninja defiantely is the best that'll fit.

The 4870 should fit, even if the power connectors are facing towards the fans.

Again, the ram will fit, but you might need to put the gfx card in the 2nd slot, as the rather beasty heat spreaders on the reaper (mainly applies to reaperX)

Not entirely sure why people are going for this board if they are only using 1 gfx card though, some of the other non crossfire boards are just as good, but cheaper...

ive only just started to look at matx again tbh, wasnt sure if there were any other P45 boards out atm? for some reason the DFI just looks sexy (if a mobo can) :D

Totally agreed, it does look mighty sexy, and i really am not a fan of orange...

It all depends what you want to do with the motherboard, as you are on air, it is unlikely that you will hit the absolute maximum your cpu can reach, so even the older and cheaper g33/g35 based baords may be ample for your needs =)

Before i rma'd the dfi it was getting 40fsb more and i hadnt even gone above 1.25 on the volts to the NB yet...... on a quad that is.

my asus was rubbish in comparison. heatsink combi is brilliant aswell.

just ordered the dfi, an e8400 and the lian li v350 should have them on tuesday all being well :) was debating to flog my 4870 and get 2 4850's or i might just wait a while and try and pick up a cheapish used 4870

Tbh i wouldn't go for 2 HD4850s and i'd stick with the one 4870.

Also I am currently with the SG01-F however I will be changing to the Lian Li V350 as watercooling the CPU is apparently quite easy with that case :)

seems a waste getting a crossfire mobo to only run 1 card.

Well the sole purpose of the board isn't just crossfire - it presents other advantages. Also it looks like from the images that a big second gfx card could cause conflicts with the RAM modules (something i have seen happen on mobos even with only one gfx card). However if someone has two 4850s fine on this board by all means prove me wrong just as a new board its unlikely people will have tried.

How would a second card conflict with ram?

just wondering, anyone with a v350 has any kind of aftermarket gpu cooling installed on their cards, just trying to figure out what would fit possibly one of these? clicky

I have a water loop in mine, gfx, cpu and nb, so that should fit with no issues at all =)

Well i got it, and the dfi board, first pc ive built in a while thats booted first time and worked perfectly :) im a little miffed im having to use the stock cooler..... so far so good, the zalman cooler i bought dont fit as it hits the NB id love to hear from any DFI owners what coolers would fit.
