Having been through 4 Xbox-360's I feel like trading one of
my spares in for a PS3 (Maybe).

just some questions:

*Can you play music from the hard drive while playing a game?

*Is It true you have to connect the controler to the console "EVERY TIME" before you can use it wireless ?

* If i was to fire up a game of call of duty 4 tonight would i be garenteed a game online ?

The Xbox360 is the greatest console ive ever owned but sadly
the build design is utterly disgraceful and unforgiving.

1) No, you can't. You can put music on your HDD but only play it from the XMB, not in game.
2) No, the controller used to need connecting via cable after every system update, now the only time it's ever connected is when it's charging.
3) Nothing is guaranteed, but it's no different to Xbox Lives games. PSN had problems when CoD4 was originally released and Xbox Live just had a week of problems, but now I'd say both are the same.

What Nokkon said, but...

Some games are now starting to let you play your own music in-game.

CoD4 is very popular on PSN, doubt you'd have any issues finding a game. The first weekend CoD4 was launched in the UK the servers couldn't match the demand so it was problematic then, but nothing that wasn't fixed by the Monday morning, and they gave us a double xp weekend to make up for it :D

Only a few games support this at present. Off the top of my head I use this feature on High Velocity Bowling (USA PSN) and Super Stardust HD (UK PSN). I normally turn the music off anyway, but listening to music from Heroes while gaming blows my mind!

True, however those are game implimented, not system implimented. When it's a taxing game you won't get this support due to memory usage would be my guess.

Indeed, but I prefer the implementation compared to Live, at present (as you can have groups of music etc, much easier).

As you say I think the system supports it so game developers can implement if they choose to, however I don't imagine a system like Live any time soon, which I am not sure is a bad thing for me as I don't use the feature much if at all on my 360. I think playing your own music in game is a love it or hate it feature. After all I am sure a lot of game developers spend a lot of time having their own music etc, so I can't see them rushing to add something that may cause memory issues etc to the detriment of their own music they have, working already.

I doubt it will ever be universal as the games that stream data from HDD would struggle, I imagine.

nope. Just need to connect it to ps3 usb cable if it needs charging. My advice is to get a 2nd controller and keep it connected and just swap controllers when the one you're using needs charging.

Try "The Fountain - OST" by Clint Mansell for background music in Super Stardust.
