hihoo

after waiting for the N80 for sooo long i was browsing in the Oragne shop and eyeballed the M600. straight away i forgot about the N80.

however to have the m600 in my posession i would need to move from Voda to Orange. not such a big deal, i have a rubbish contract with Voda anyway.

now because the M600 is in short supply, switiching contracts, while keeping the same number and continually having a working phone has raised a couple of questions.

basically i have to find an Orange shop that has it in stock, then get my PAC code and get the M600 before they sell out again :/

so is it possible to get my PAC code there and then on the phone? or do they have to send a letter out confirming it?

as soon as i request the code, does my phone/number stop working (contract ends)? or does it wait until the phone is on a new network?

also if anyone else has been in the same situation, what did you do?

thanks :)

You don't need your PAC code at time of purchase, you can get it any time afterwards and arrange the number port.

When you activate a PAC code, it normally takes 7 days for the number to transfer, and on day 7 the number changes from your old phone and network to your new one, and the old phone is disconnected.

The new phone will run on a temporary number from date of connection until the completion of the port.

Basically the best way to do it would be to buy an M600 on contract, then phone vodaphone to get your pac, as a pac code is only valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
