Couple of questions about new system

Hey just a couple of teething probs / querys.

1st. my 250gb sata drive was detected as 250gb in bios, but 130gb in windows setup, and now nearly 250gig in windows but just unpartitioned, why? and is it ok to just make the partition use the extra space with magic now?

2nd. my ocuk value floppy drive xD light is always on, ive tried doing the cable each way to no avail, is this normal?

for 1st problem solution go to the harddrives section of this forum and read the thread and it will answer your question...

for the 2nd problem are you sure all the wires are properly connected for your floppy?

ok HDD solved

Floppy - all the wires? theres only power, and its on so thats ok, and the floppy cable, which i tried both ways round.

Also sometimes when i reboot or my system reboots for drivers etc, it seems to semi shut down, fans still on etc, but monitor goes into power save and i just have to press reboot manually. Only thing i can thing of is some bios power setting? computer seems stable...

The reboot problem seems to be intermittent, sometimes it reboots fine, sometimes just sits and doesnt boot back up.

i dont know if this will work but it wont do any harm. Go into the control panel then go into performance and maintenance and then power options. Then another window (or the same one dosnt matter) should come up with some options (turn off hdd etc) go through them and see if there is anything relivant there

i only have the basic, scheme, turn off monitor, turn off hdd, system standby options, hdd and standby are set to never.
