I am upgrading my mums computer for her at the moment. She is currently using an old Compaq Presario P4 @ 2.6Ghz.
I have purchased the following from the MM as it will fit in the current Compaq case:
2 x 1gb 800mhz Crucial Ballistix
1 x AMD Athlon II 4600+
1 x Abit A-N68SV Motherboard
1) Will the PSU have enough umph? It's 250 Watt, there will be no graphics card or anything, 1 DVD drive and 1 HDD.
2) Will the PSU work? I have read some reports that Compaq used to use their own pin layouts etc but can't find anything solid regarding this. On the sticker it says "ATX-250-12z Rev: C". I have purchased a 4pin to 8pin adaptor and a 20pin to 24pin adaptor for the motherboard power layout already.
