Hi all not been on for a number of years and well out of touch with everything pc.
I have a 6900xt with terrible coil whine under load/playing games and looking to change, not the ideal time I know what would be a upgrade ? 4070ti 4080 (would like to go back nvidia tbh), I also have a 850w power supply in my pre-build from OCUK is this enough for 40xx card?
Thanks in advance

Maybe outwith the 4090, 850w is fine for anything 40 series.

But pre built you say, could be the supplied PSU that's causing the whine, you could be replacing the 69 with a new GPU for it to whine just the same.

I didn't think of that how would I go about finding the culprit ?
Look and see what PSU is in your prebuilt, google it and see if it's 'just' an average psu(that can contribute to gpu coil whine) or if it's a quality psu.

Also find out your 69 version and reply in here, some might know if it's bad for coil whine.

Swap out one or the other theres not much else you can do

New gpu+headset?

6900xt is Radeon Toxic air cooled and psu is a 850w 80+ bronze don't know what make unless I take it out (not happening) :)
