1. Why is Everest Ultimate reporting this: GPU Clock 500 MHz (original: 815 MHz) on my Asus 4870 ?

2. Why after installing my 4870 on my machine has Dreamscene stopped working (load up dreamscene video clip and screen goes Black)

Not major issues i know but i hate when things don't work properly ;)

1) Dunno what everest ultimate is/does, but GPU's tend to clock down to draw less power when not running 3D apps.

2) Not a clue, perhaps reinstall it :)

For 1) it is normal that when you're on the desktop the gpu is in 2D mode (i.e. runs at a lower clock) only when you start up something in 3D (i.e. games) then you'll find it clocks up, in this case 850mhz.

For 2): no idea.

I did say they were silly :D
1. ok got the fact that it runs at lower clock speed, just seemed odd as everthing else is reported as per spec.
Guru, it reports things like speed and temp etc :)
2. have reinstalled it it was working with 9600GT extreme but not with 4870
