Anyone converted from a traditional SIM to an ESIM, noticed the option when logged into my Vodafone app recently on the iPhone

I came across eSIM option on Vodafone when i was logged in last week (Account Settings > Swap your SIM) and lists it there now. Think i would still prefer the convenience of being able to pull my SIM out my phone if it breaks and put it into a spare. But might consider if in future.

It's just as simple to move an eSIM from phone to phone, strange as it sounds!

I've just looked into doing the same with Three (as I'd prefer not having to carry around work & personal phone)

Turn's out they're doing a soft-launch which needs to be done in-store & all stores they've listed appear to be Tier 2+ lockdown areas

Yeah this is what I saw too... However, I'm pretty sure I've seen some people having success outside of those areas, and possibly even by post

I did it when I got a galaxy fold 2 - I use 2 Sims so it was my only option really as the phone only lets you use an esim and 1 physical sim. The first time I tried it, using Vodafone's automated system, it just didn't work and nothing actually happened. I rang Vodafone but numerous customer service staff had trouble advising me as no-one appeared to understand the concept. Eventually I was told it would be done overnight but, again, nothing happened.

A couple of weeks later I tried the automated process through the website again and for some reason it worked immediately this time. I'm guessing it was just teething problems... anyway, all has been fine since and I'm only carrying one phone again (albeit a large one).

Noticed any differences at all, or all pretty much the same?

So how do you get this E-Sim to another phone if you lose or break your current phone?

Ring provider, give details, E-Sim is then swapped straight away?

EE just issued an update which allows you to activate E-SIMs via their phone apps. It was a long time coming.
That's handy. Going to the stores was a huge pain

I've been using an eSIM for a while now on EE. When you break your phone (well, now you can do it on the app it seems) you had to pop to your local ee store with proof of ID and they'll issue you QR Code
