my partner is being forced out at work, she has recorded meetings relating to this, where she was being interviewed, is this legal?
feel free to quote law this will help me
cheers

If it is anything like phone call recordings, then she has to notify the people she is recording beforehand, otherwise I don't think you can use it as evidence iirc.

if you plan on using them as evidence than they are completely useless as you have to inform the persons/s that they are being recorded from what i know.

The recordings themselves may not be usable as evidence, but iirc they can be used to make comprehensive notes on the meeting.

That's my understanding of it.

more detail
being suspended, then being asked to attend an investigation where staff would lie, with regard to the content of the meeting

the company blatently breaking its own rules with regard to the investigation

I would think then the issue will be proving what has or hasnt been said/done. The issue you have is that you might not be able to use the recordings if they claim they werent asked. If you have them agreeing while being recorded then that should be enough but I'm not 100%.

In some cases the best option if your at this stage is to leave the company. Not without putting a fight up first but even if you do prove them wrong do you want your partner working in that type of place. I have seen these type of things happen in the past and they always seem to end badly what ever the overall outcome. Just advice mind as I dont know the full story I could be missing the mark a bit.
