Coving

Hi guys I'm looking at doing the coving in one of my bedroom. As I understand it there seem to be 3 main types polystyrene, plaster and duropolymer. I've leaning towards the latter as OT doesn't seem to have any downsides but wanted people's opinions on it. Also how good are the accuracy of the cuts when using the hold on style jigs, my dads got a mitre saw but it's old stool and not powered so wasn't sure if it would be any better. Am I right in thinking that they are pretty much just solid plastic?

I used SuperCove and got a fairly decent outcome given im fairly ham fisted and absolutely none of our walls are remotely square. It was easy to work with solo.
