Hi all,

I'm looking for a CPL Filter for my 18-55 Canon Lens. Am I right in thinking that the number under the lens cap (in this case 58mm) is the size of CPL filter I need?

Secondly I've found what I think may be a brilliant price for a Hoya 58mm Circular Polariser Slim Filter from the rain forest for £16.

Would this be a good choice of filter? Excuse my ignorance but there are so many about I haven't got much of an idea as to what would be good for me.

I have the Pro1 filter. The filter simply let's only polarised light through and you set the angle by turning it. It will remove reflections from water, glass, tree leaves etc. and really bring out colours. It can also do some awesome effects with the sky. It isn't a filter you want on all the time and it will reduce the amount of light going into the lens.

Might go for the Marumi DHG Super Circular, struggling to find any reputable stockists though :|

- found one, purchased. Looks like an awesome CPL filter :)

ok So the filter arrived yesterday, however I can't fit it on to my 18-55 lens, is there something I'm missing? I'm sure I've got the right size filter (58mm) as thats the number under the 18-55 lens cap.

edit - sorted it now :)
