CPU @100%?

ok im gonna try my best to explain , its not my lappy that has this issue

these are the Toshiba lappy's specs

installed Memory ram 3.00(2.75 GB usuable)

AMD Sempron (tm) SI -42 2.10 Ghz

64 bit operating system

...yeah so shes saying that the CPU is running at 100% pretty much all the time...ive told her that it sounds like something in the background is hogging the CPU ( i could be wrong)..she says shes looked at the possess list but shes lost with that option...i cant even go round her place cos shes up north , so if anyone can give any help or advice please..thanx

Use Teamviewer so you can check what's hogging up the CPU?

It's a four year old single core Sempron. Anything could be causing it to run at full tilt.

Ask if she has any anti virus software on there. I know norton does this sometimes.

ok she did have two anti viruses running MSE plus Comodo i got her to dump MSE , she also had other security software running as well , I did tell her to have them set to manual scans and get them off running all the time , and just have her anti virus software running ...but i gotta wait till sh comes online later or tomorrow and see what shes actually done.....

Also check the temps. It could be overheating and the CPU throttling down to compensate.
