I'm convinced that my CPU runs way hotter than everyone elses and im not too sure why

As you can see i have the AF64 Pro and fairly sufficent airflow, even when my case temp is 31c the cpu gets up to 51c when playing games such as fear and nfsmw. I've seen many people on these forums with a similar setup that are idling around 30 and maxing out around 40-45 and im abit baffled as why mine is so toasty.

Im gonna try reseating the freezer (again) in a vain attempt.

Could it just be that my opteron runs hotter than most? (cabye 0540).

Are those zalman fan brackets any good? would it help?

I'm a little concerned as my room is very cold atm so what happens when summer arrives? my rooms the hottest in the house during summer :(

Thats nothing my old Athalon XP3200 has 1.725v going through it and the temp during a warmish day hits 63 degress + in summer its almost 66.

Athlon 64s have a lower max temp.

My 3200+ @ 2.5ghz @ 1.525v hits 42c load with my freezer pro witht he case fans 7volted and running at 70% fan speed so theres something wrong with yours.

i remember at one time my cpu hit 53-54C gaming CSS, but my room was relatively hot and my pc had been for a few days or overnight, socket 939 cpus max temp is 65C, before it is a concern. Though usually when i play CSS, its usually around the high 40's to 50's.

i'm having the same problems with a AMD 3700+ Athlon 64 - running an Arctic Freezer Pro, i have tried the normal Arctic Cooler its running in its 50s. my system temps is 30s i have various case fans to attempt to try and keep it cool but still no joys when im on a game it runs into a 50s zone

CPU at the moment 44oC
system 31oC

:( :(

any help / advice would be entierly appreciated!!!!!!! :D

i'm assuming that your ambient temp in the room must be high? as even if its 25c in the room that'll put your case temp up, and also load temp on the cpu.
asus probe ^^ not really, try using speedfan/mbm5 i think last time i tried one of those worked better i believe.

Something like Motherboard Monitor 5 is a good one

I honestly wouldn't worry if your temps go into the low 50s under load for an Athlon 64. The Newcastle will run hotter as it's made using the 130nm process, against the 90nm process for the Winchester/Venice/San Diego cores

i think the highest i have hit so far was when i was at 2.6ghz and i was burning a dvd for like an hour and i hit 40 altho back last summer when i had a 754 3400 clawhammer i used to hit around 60 playing farcry i think it was

differs from chip to chip. My CABYE 0536 GPMW, idles around 44*c and loads around 50*c on an Evo 120 whacked on full!

Down to the contact of the core on the IHS or the accuracy of your temp probe.
