cpu 3.4 ghz not 4?

Wonder if you can help this afternoon I installed a m5a99fx and a Corsair Hydro H60 V2 High Performance Liquid CPU.

Im new to this mobo and I hope this is the correct place to post this thread! Basically on picking the Asus optimal settings rather than power saving or normal It pushed my CPU speed uptoo around 4373 rather than 4. However it did lower my ram speed too 1151 which I found odd, I have done into the setting and set this to manual and i could only pick 1728mhz which is fine slightly over clocked, Restarted and booted too Speed 4370mhz and DDR3 1728mhz.

However when I look at my task manager im seeing this.. Any ideas?

Also when I click on memory the speed is only saying 1600MHz

I have power saving off in mobo options.

Hmm power saving is on high performance however I have had to keep EPU power options Enabled or my wireless card doesnt work! I'm very new to this but im guessing thats why its saying its not 4. Would you suggest leaving in on normal settings. Im very confused. Thank you
 
It could actually be a windows problem, actually I think it is.. Basically on bootup windows generally does not see the correct speed of the CPU when overclocked. Check in Computer properties as most overclocking now is done by altering the Turbo Frequency. Download CPUz and run something like Prime 95 in the background and see what it reports the speed to be in CPUz.
 
Thanks i have CPU-Z in stalled and its saying CpU core speed is 4334.4 but every so often will drop down to like 1517 randomly. Also the memory on CPU-z is saying 866.9 so dual chan is about 17338 so guessing its all ok! Just ran BF4 for the first all on Ultra and hitting a solid 100fps some drops to 60 in ridic intense but pretty solid. Rather happy!

Windows power plan was off, I think cool & quiet might be on.

I had to turn all the overclocks off, my BF4 kept not responding thought might be an issue with BF4 untill my PC crashed.

Think the Ram might not like being overclocked.. not sure notice my wirless card only sometimes works on boot up as well and in device manager if its not working its literally not there!

Bit unsure. Turned off the overclocks and no problems but I did only play one round. very random. I doubt it was heat as well even under full load gpu is 60 and processor 30.. All fans on high. v loud but only for gaming. Bit unsure!
