CPU 8-pin to 8+4pin

I don't think you can as it would draw way too much power for a single cable. If this is for a X570 board or Z390/Z490 you don't need the second CPU power (4 pin) connector unless you have one of the high end cpu's and are really pushing very high overclocks.

no not gonna overclock to get the right lead for my moduler is 30 quid from evga as i lost the box of leads in a house move

out of interest if you have the 8pin and 4pin connector on your PSU should you plug them both in? got a ryzen 3600 on msi x570

Doubt it would make any difference with a 3600, but not going to hurt anything if you do have the cable there.

You would basically need liquid nitrogen cooling to have need for more power than what 8 pin EPS12V is rated for.

I have a 3900X on an MSI x570 ACE, I only have one 8 pin EPS cable in the board, ive tried it with 2 and doesnt make a blind bit of difference except add to the cable clutter, so I took the other one out, its running fine with 1.
